Watch Netflix on your Apple TV

Let’s have a look at different ways how to watch your Netflix Content on your Apple TV.

Watch NetFlix on your Apple TV using AirPlay

Download the official NetFlix App in the App store. It supports AirPlay. All you have to do is activate it using the button with the AirPlay symbol.

There’s also a note in the Netflix help about the iOS version:

With iOS 6, only Airplay mirroring is supported. With iOS 7 and 8, only Airplay (non-mirroring) is supported.

But seems like in the meantime, the requirements have changed because the latest version of the App requires iOS 7!

Using the video out for Netflix

You can also use a compatible Apple-specific cable connection kits in order to direct output your video signal (like described in the article about Amazon Prime streaming).

Native NetFlix App on Apple TV

Just in case you haven’t seen it: Another easy way to watch Netflix content is the Netflix App on your Apple TV home screen.

  1. Great article. For those who live outside US like me, you can access Netflix, Hulu and similar media stations on your Apple TV by using UnoTelly or similar tools.

  2. I have apple tv with 2nd generation remote. When I put Netflix on, I don’t get sound; video is ok but audio is mute. Other channels such as History, You Tube, Sky News have both video and audio. Using this 2nd generation remote, I don’t know how to find audio control for Netflix. Kindly suggest how can I fix it.
